LAKE NAKURU NATIONAL PARK

Lake Nakuru National Park is located 140 kilometers from Nairobi and was gazetted in 1961 and is considered one of the most popular and visited parks in Kenya. The famous Lake Nakuru is found here, which is a shallow soda lake that provides the perfecting nesting grounds for millions of flamingo and the much needed support for the abundance of wildlife that live within the park. The main thing about this park is the pink flamingo that litterally turn the lake pink, and hence Lake Nakuru is sometimes reffere to as the pink lake. It is indeed the greatest ornithological spectacle on earth!!!!!

For bird lovers and bird watchers this is their paradise because in addition to the pink fellas, they are a recorded 450 other bird species that nest within the park!!


The park has been electrically fenced off by the Kenyan government in the hopes of protecting the wildlife from poachers, especially the black rhinos. Nakuru national park is now one of the most prime parks to re-introduced rare, endangered or once captive wildlife.

Other wildlife within the park include the thomson's and grants gazelle, lions,leopards, stripped hyena's,waterbuck,bat eared fox,wildcat,black and white rhino,reedbuck,golden cat,collubus monkey,long eared leaf nosed bats, rock hyrax and hippo.These are not the only attractions. Others include Malaika waterfall, 3 view points namely:lion hill,baboon cliffs and out of africa, the enasoit and honeymoon hills and much more!!
 In regards to accommodation, there are campsites and lodges within the camp that offer you quality and comfort during your stay from you to choose from.
